“If trauma can be passed down through generations, then so can healing.”

Adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood (0-17 years). ACEs are linked to challenges in adolescence and adulthood, and they can potentially negatively impact education, job opportunities, and earning potential.

UNDERSTANDING ACES
ACEs are like a time capsule from the past and a looking glass into our future.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic events that can be acute, chronic, and/or complex. ACEs are common with 40% of children under the age of eighteen having suffered some sort of trauma. How each individual experienced a traumatic event mentally and physically determines the overall influence and impact.
WHAT WE DO
We create learning spaces for people to learn about ACEs and connect with others.
We teach community influencers how to talk about ACEs. We share our knowledge across the country with communities, schools, childcare centers, churches, local organizations, medical establishments, and businesses that are located in or around at-risk communities.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Join the conversation.
Start the conversation. Stay in the conversation. We are responsible for starting the conversation, tracking the research, and raising capital to keep the ship afloat. Donations allow us to cover the expenses when deemed necessary, but our ultimate goal is to teach people how to *fish* for themselves, which is made possible through our volunteers.

Our CommitmentHelp people identify any childhood adversities that might be interfering with their own physical, mental, or spiritual health.
Empower adults and caregivers to use their understanding of ACEs to better support the youth in their care. Influence so well that people leave wanting to share what they learned with others. |

WHY CHOOSE US?
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” - Frederick Douglas
Our mission at ACEs Matter is to start the conversation about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) where it doesn’t exist.
Due to the severity of adverse childhood experiences, our world is left with many adults who need to heal from their upbringing. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) research reveals that 125 million (60%) American adults experienced at least one traumatic event (ACE) as a child, and another 52 million (25%) adults have experienced 3 or more traumatic events (ACEs), likely an underestimate.
Our solution provides reeducation to an entire bloodline of current and future generations. Our solution influences the overall health and wealth of adults in zip codes across the country. Most importantly, the funds raised are immediately and strategically invested back into communities.
Partnerships with mental health and government agencies, subject matter experts, small businesses, local school districts, and community influencers will allow ACEs Matter to educate mission beneficiaries on trauma informed practices, protective factors, and ACE awareness in real-time. The opportunity, recommendation, timeline, and cost are provided in this report.
Our solution aims to improve:
1. Access to mental health and coaching services
2. Overall well-being of adults and children
3. Health care associated cost
4. Community & business health
5. Crime & recidivism rates
